Light on the wrist

The retractable ErgoGrip handle with its textured, non-slip surface still feels comfortable in your hand after hours of use. The TOUGHBOOK 56 weighs from 2.00 kg – it is lighter than most cordless drills.

The lid opens with one hand, even while wearing work gloves – Panasonic deliberately omitted any latch mechanism. The touchpad reliably recognises fingers, gloves and styluses alike.

Outlasts your shift

The standard battery lasts up to 12 hours. With the optional second battery, it is up to 24 – enough for a double shift. Both batteries can be hot-swapped while the device is running, without shutting it down.

Panasonic Safety Technology monitors the charge level proactively and protects the cells during charging. This extends battery lifespan over the entire device cycle and reduces downtime.

Built to take a beating

Rain, dust, a fall from the vehicle roof – the TOUGHBOOK 56 keeps working. IP53 protection against splashing water and dust, MIL-STD-810H tested against shock and vibration, drop-tested from 91 cm onto plywood. The X-shaped magnesium chassis with sliding port covers protects what’s inside.

As a Microsoft Secured-Core PC, the TOUGHBOOK 56 also protects data at hardware level – with Windows Hello, fingerprint and smart card authentication as well as built-in protection against firmware attacks and phishing.

Always connected. Really always.

Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 – combined in a rugged laptop for the first time. Plus up to three wired LAN connections simultaneously (1 Gb, 2.5 Gb, 10 Gb). Chuck Norris didn’t need Wi-Fi – the internet came to him. For everyone else, there’s optional 4G or 5G, including private networks.

Dual Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI round off the connectivity package – so you stay connected when it matters.

The TOUGHBOOK 56 runs on Intel Core™ Ultra Series 2 processors (Core Ultra 5 235H or Core Ultra 7 265H) and features the most powerful Intel AI Boost NPU ever built into a TOUGHBOOK. AI applications run directly on the device, even without an internet connection.

For graphics-intensive applications, a dedicated AMD Radeon™ Pro is available as an expansion module. The Panasonic-engineered cooling system keeps the clock speed consistently high, even under sustained load.
